I've been refinishing doors. It's glorious. There is such satisfaction in taking a door that is faded and dry and bringing it back to life. It changes the feeling of the whole house.

I like to think that each door holds the stories of the families that live in the house- times of getting together with family and friends- bringing home a new baby- leaving for a vacation adventure.
Most of the doors I work on are from three to ten years old and in various states of wear and tear. I sand- stain- and clear coat each one four times. With each coat the wood comes back to life- until finally the door is restored.
